Welcome to Savvy Skeins!
My name is Ali. I am a stay at home mom with 5 children whom I homeschool. In July 2013, my family and I moved from the beautiful state of Oregon, to the rocky, hot land of South Texas.
I began knitting about 10 years ago. Knitting quickly became a passion. Knitting then gave way to spinning, and then spinning gave way to dyeing my own fiber. Dyeing quickly morphed into dyeing my own yarn. Out of that, Savvy Skeins was born!
Savvy Skeins yarn is dyed one by one by hand, out of my home kitchen. My approach to dyeing is very organic and abstract. Colors will come into my mind and then are translated onto undyed hanks. It is a satisfying process!
Over the last few years I have been fortunate to be able to share my love of color and yarn with a variety of shops around the United States. My goal is to inspire creativity in the knitting community, and allow my color ways to bring joy to the lives of makers.
